The small shop quickly established a loyal following and was known as the place to buy the best in cashmere pashmina products and accessories at affordable prices. It became very popular as a source for luxury corporate gifts and wedding and bridesmaid gifts - still an important part of the business.

Cynthia realized that for Pashmina Galleria to continue growing and to achieve its goal of becoming the largest provider of premium-quality pashminas it would have to switch its focus to the Internet to reach a wider customer audience.

The retail location was closed in 2004 and Pashmina Galleria became an online-only business. This change also helped reduce overhead costs and allowed Pashmina Galleria to continue offer its premium quality pashminas at value prices.

Now in its sixth year of business, Pashmina Galleria is growing fast and getting even better. This is due to the continuing strong emphasis on quality, customer service and value.

Shipping Information:

Standard shipping may take from 3-6 business days to reach addresses in the United States. We make every attempt to ship your item on the same business day (M-F) if received by 3:30 PM central time.

UPS does not deliver on Saturday or Sundays, so shipping is based on business days. For example a Next Day Air ordered by 3:30 PM on Friday will arrive the following Monday.

International shipments must go through individual countries' Customs clearance so an estimated time of delivery is difficult. Please note that international shipments may be charged duties or taxes, we are not responsible for such additional charges. We make every effort to eliminate ot minimize such charges by making it clear that orders are shipped as "Gifts."



Refund, Returns and Cancellation Policies:

Pashmina Galleria wants you to be satisfied with your new pashmina. If there is a problem, we want to make it right for you. You may return an item for refund, exchange or replacement within 30 days of the shipment date. Please ensure the tag is still on the item and use the original packaging. Any item without tags attached or that has been clearly worn will be returned to original shipping address.

When you return an item, enclose a note with your return with your name or order number, and most importantly, please indicate the reason for the return. You may want to insure your return; we cannot be responsible for lost or misdirected returns. If you paid for your order by credit card, a credit will be issued and will appear on your billing statement.

Expedited shipping and handling charges are non-refundable. If you are exchanging, please let us know your choice for exchange and include a check for any additional amount if the price of the new item is higher. Also include $5.00 for return shipping. If the price is lower, we will issue a credit to your card.

Is 100% Pure Pashmina or Pashmina Silk blend better?

This is really a personal decision. One not "better" than the other since we use only superior quality pashmina wool and silk.

The 100% pure wool items cost a little more since cashmere is more rare than silk. But many people prefer the slight sheen and smoothness that the addition of silk provides, especially for weddings and bridesmaid gifts.

How do I get free shipping?

Free standard Ground shipping is available for shipments within the United States is automatic with your order of $50.00 or more. The free shipping is our choice of service. Faster shipping services are available at an additional cost. An economical choice is Priority Ground which is about 2-3 days faster than free Ground shipping and includes insurance.



Do you charge sales tax?

Only for orders shipped in the state of Texas are we required to collect 8.25% state sales taxes.



What is "ply"?

A simple way to look at a "ply" is the number of threads used in the weave. So the greater the number of plys, the more cashmere and the more substantial the item. Because pashmina wool is so wonderful, one is not really better than the other - it is a personal preference.



How do I take care of my new pashmina?

Although we suggest dry cleaning, you may occassionally wash your pashmina by hand. Please use very cool water, dissolve a very gentle detergent completely, do not wring dry but lie it flat, warm iron with damp fabric in between if needed.

It is best if you store your pashmina in a cool, dry, dark place away from dust and other possible contaminents. You may even store it is in the bag that each pashmina comes in.

Although we use color-fast dyes, we still suggest cleaning before first wear to ensure no bleeding of the color. This also helps remove any "fuzzies" that could end up on your clothes. These can be removed with a lint brush, if needed.



Are the animals and workers treated fairly?

The pashmina goats are revered in Nepal and are sheered each year, never killed, for their cashmere treasures. We also require them to guarantee that they provide excellent working conditions and do not use any child labor. We do this because we want everyone to get the best out of life.

We take your privacy seriously. We never sell, rent, or otherwise provide your personal information to any outside party. We rarely send out marketing emails since we dislike them ourselves, so we only send them out if something is truly special. And of course you can request to not receive those.
